Prerequisites

  • Windows 10 or Windows 11.
  • A compatible display adapter (most modern graphics cards support this).
  • No admin rights required.

Instructions

1. Turn On Night Light Instantly

Enable Night Light immediately from Quick Settings.

  1. Click the network, sound, or battery icons in the bottom-right corner of the taskbar (or press Win+A).
  2. The Quick Settings panel opens.
  3. Click the Night light button to toggle it on.
  4. The screen immediately shifts to a warmer colour tone.
  5. Click the button again to turn it off.

2. Adjust the Colour Temperature

Control how warm or cool the screen appears.

  1. Press Win+I to open Settings.
  2. Go to System > Display.
  3. Click Night light.
  4. Use the Strength slider to adjust the intensity:
    • Low (left) — A subtle warm tint.
    • High (right) — A deep amber tone.
  5. The change previews in real time as you adjust the slider.

3. Schedule Night Light

Set Night Light to turn on and off automatically.

  1. In Settings > System > Display > Night light, toggle Schedule night light to On.
  2. Choose one of two options:
    • Sunset to sunrise — Automatically adjusts based on your location.
    • Set hours — Manually specify turn-on and turn-off times.
  3. If using Set hours, enter your preferred times in the Turn on and Turn off fields.
  4. Night Light will activate and deactivate on schedule from now on.

4. Turn On Night Light Now (While Scheduled)

Force Night Light on outside your scheduled window.

  1. Go to Settings > System > Display > Night light.
  2. Click Turn on now.
  3. Night Light activates immediately and remains on until your next scheduled off-time, or until you click Turn off now.
