About No Ticket Needed
Why This Exists
I've spent 10 years in IT - working everywhere from dedicated support agencies to in-house corporate teams. And the pattern is always the same: someone waits two days for a helpdesk ticket response to fix something that takes five minutes. Not because IT doesn't care, but because the queue is long and the fixes are buried in highly technical documentation written for system administrators.
No Ticket Needed exists to close that gap.
Every guide here is written for the person at their desk, mid-deadline, who needs the answer right now - not after waiting for their ticket to be escalated.
Who Writes These Guides
I'm Scot — an experienced IT problem-solver, the specialist issues get escalated to when the basic fixes don't work. I've spent a decade solving the exact problems you're searching for right now. From small businesses to massive enterprises, I've seen the full spectrum, and I know which fixes actually work in the real world versus what just looks good in an official support article.
I built this site because helping people solve their own tech problems is the best part of the job. Sharing what I know doesn't cost anything, and it means fewer people have to sit there staring at a frozen Outlook window wondering if they should restart or wait.
What Makes This Different
- Written for you, not for IT. Every guide assumes zero IT training and zero admin access. If a step requires your IT team, the article says so up front.
- Matches what you see on your screen. Instructions reference the actual button names, menu paths, and UI layouts in the current versions of Windows 11 and Microsoft 365.
- No filler. Each guide gets to the fix as fast as possible. Summary up top, numbered steps, troubleshooting table at the bottom.
- Free. No login walls. No popups. No interstitials. Nothing stands between you and the fix. Analytics are privacy-respecting and collect no personal data. The only cookies on the site come from the embedded newsletter signup form, which is served by Beehiiv and sets them when the page loads — the site itself sets none.
The Numbers
- 590+ guides covering Outlook, Teams, Excel, Windows, OneDrive, SharePoint, security, browsers, and more
- 17 categories organized by the tools you actually use
- Every guide shows its review date at the top of the article — and anything not re-reviewed within six months gets flagged for another pass, because Microsoft moves these interfaces constantly

Got Feedback?
Every article has a feedback button at the bottom. Click it, tell me what worked or what didn't, and I'll improve the guide. That's how this site gets better — real feedback from real users.
Corrections
Microsoft renames menus and moves settings constantly, and a guide that doesn't match your screen is worse than no guide. If you spot a step that's wrong, report it with the feedback button — corrections update the article, and the review date at the top updates with it.
