1. Enable Snap Assist (If It's Turned Off) ​

  1. Click the Start button, type Settings, and press Enter.
  2. Navigate to System > Multitasking.
  3. Ensure the toggle switch for Snap windows is turned On.
  4. (Optional) Click the arrow next to the toggle to view additional snap settings, such as automatically resizing adjacent windows.

2. Snap Using the Mouse (Windows 11 Hover Feature) ​

  1. Open the application you want to snap.
  2. Hover your mouse cursor over the Maximize button (the square icon next to the X in the top right corner of the window).
  3. A menu of different layout options will appear (e.g., side-by-side, three columns, four corners).
  4. Click the specific zone where you want the current window to go.
  5. Windows will automatically prompt you to click another open app to fill the remaining empty space.

3. Snap Using Keyboard Shortcuts (Fastest Method) ​

  1. Click the window you want to move so it is active.
  2. Press and hold the Windows Key on your keyboard, then press the Left Arrow or Right Arrow key.
  3. The window will immediately snap to take up exactly half of the screen.
  4. Release the Windows Key, and select another window to fill the other half.
  5. (Tip: You can use the Up Arrow or Down Arrow while holding the Windows Key to snap a window into a quarter of the screen).

4. Verify Success ​

  1. Try snapping two windows side-by-side using the Windows Key + Arrow shortcut. They should perfectly divide the screen.
