Instructions ​

1. Access Mouse Pointer Settings ​

  1. Press the Start button on your taskbar or keyboard.
  2. Type Mouse pointer style into the search bar.
  3. Select Change mouse pointer size and color from the results.

2. Change Cursor Size and Style ​

  1. Adjust the Size: Use the Size slider. Moving it to the right increases the cursor size, making it significantly easier to spot on large or multiple monitors.
  2. Select a Style: Under Mouse pointer style, choose one of the following options:
    • White: The default white cursor with a black outline.
    • Black: A solid black cursor with a white outline.
    • Inverted: This is the best option for contrast. The cursor will automatically invert its color based on the background it is hovering over (e.g., turning white on a dark background and black on a light background).
    • Custom: Allows you to pick a bright, neon color (like yellow or pink) that stands out from your typical applications.

3. (Optional) Enable the "Find My Mouse" Feature ​

If you still have trouble finding the cursor after changing its appearance, you can enable a visual ping.

  1. In the same Settings window, click on Mouse in the breadcrumb trail at the top (or select Additional mouse settings).
  2. Go to the Pointer Options tab.
  3. Check the box at the bottom that says Show location of pointer when I press the CTRL key.
  4. Click Apply and then OK.
  5. Now, tap the CTRL key on your keyboard to trigger a visual circle that shrinks around your cursor's current location.

Troubleshooting ​

Changes to the mouse pointer take effect immediately. If you ever want to revert to the default, pull the size slider back to 1 and select the standard White style.
